I currently work on a new version of KeyDuino, based on the prototype:
Current improvement: - USB male on board - RGB LEDs - NANO sized - Antenna pin can be used for a shield
TODO (maybe): - reversible USB - improve reading distance by a larger antenna - add a DC jack for 12v supply - add a buzzer - design a antenna shield - design a arduino compatible adapter
If you have any idea to make a perfect new keyduino just leave a message !

Hey there,
is there any news on this? I'm interested on working with the board file, also tried out a lot with the bigger keyduino. Can you also share those files on github?
Is this prototype already working?

Hi, currently the prototype works fine but I would like to make another kickstater so I cannot share the files now.. I also work on another version with wifi connection & rgb led keep you in touch if you want What do you plan to do with the design?

The prototypes works fine, and the reading range is increase by ~2 for the big antenna thanks to a new antenna design Oh, you can now connect the board directly to a USB A connector (computer) OR a Micro USB (android phone) without any cable.
KeyDuino NANO is actually on production at ELECROW, will be available soon !

I love both of my KeyDuinos! If/when the Nano releases I feel like it will open up so many more possibilities! Any updates on when we can buy the KeyDuino Nano?

Hey Gymbry, thank you for the support! For the keyduino nano sadly I started a phd thesis last year and I don't found a lot of time to start a production since then. Anyway I keep you in touch if there is any news about that !

After 1 year, the keyduino nano is available! You can found the board at elecrow for 25$ (here)
It's still a ATMEGA32u4 but I redesign the NFC antenna and add few ameliorations. Currenlty I try some project like communication with a credit card, HCE communication, etc. If you have any cool projet to suggest with or without the NFC ring, tell me !

If I wanna make a car door control using this new keyduino . Whats other parts require? Should I buy the shield or relay too?

Hello Richai, You can unlock the doors by severals ways, I think the easiest way is to make a new key controler (not the mecanical par but just the radiofrequency unlock control and make a short circuit on the button with the keyduino when you want to unlock the car. If you do that you only need the keyduino and few wires.
The second method is to bypass the button of the centralisation following this video:
But it depend a lot of your car and for few model, the centralisation won't open after a long delay. If you want to use this method, you can use a small relay like this one ; www.elecrow.com/1channel-relay-module10a-p-1048.html
Keep me in touch if you have any trouble with that

Can the latest keyduino device do that?

Actually, the nano and the normal is the same electronics, so it works the same. For the reading distance I recomand the nano but it will depend of the tag you use, sadly some nfc tag have a really poor antenna design and it's quitte difficult to read at more than few mm.
